MANSFIELD, Ohio – Do you want to be part of an organization where you can make a difference?

If so, join other Watershed Investigators with Richland Soil and Water conservation District. Watershed Investigators are a dynamic group of volunteers who help manage Richland County’s eight watershed. Data is used to gauge long-term trends in watershed health and land use practices.

One way Watershed Investigators assist with watershed management is as Precipitation Monitors. As a Precipitation Monitor, you will measure and record snow and rainfall at your residence or business.

Data is shared on the Richland Soil and Water Conservation District website, as well as with other organizations. Training and equipment are provided; all you need is access to the internet.

The next orientation and training session for Precipitation Monitors will be held on Thursday, Feb. 11 at 3:30 p.m. at the Richland Soil and Water Conservation District office located in the Richland County Longview Center at 1495 W. Longview Avenue, Suite 205B, Mansfield.
