MANSFIELD, Ohio — Mansfield City Schools kindergarten registration for 2016-17 is scheduled Feb. 2 through 11. Children must be 5 years old by Aug. 1.

A parent or guardian may register their child for kindergarten at the elementary school their child will attend.

Registration must be at their home school. Anyone not sure which school their child will attend may call Mansfield City Schools at 419-525-6400, ext. 56440 for assistance.

The following documents will be required at registration: child’s birth certificate, immunization record, Social Security number, copy of custody papers if applicable and proof of residency (U.S. mail, utility bill or rental agreement).

Registration dates and times are: Tuesday, Feb. 2 – 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. and 4 to 7 p.m. during parent-teacher conferences.

Wednesday, Feb. 3 – 9:30 a.m. through 2:30 p.m.

Thursday, Feb. 4 – 9:30 a.m. through 2:30 p.m.

Tuesday, Feb. 9 – 9:30 a.m. through 2:30 p.m.

Wednesday, Feb. 10 – 9:30 a.m. through 2:30 p.m.

Thursday, Feb. 11 – 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. and 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. during parent-teacher conferences.

Because activity in school offices can be especially hectic between noon and 1 p.m., those on tight schedules may want to consider another time.

Kindergarten screening will occur in the fall after school begins. All children entering kindergarten in Ohio are screened for vision, hearing, speech and communication, medical problems and any developmental disorders.

Screening results do not affect a child’s eligibility to enter kindergarten.
