BELLVILLE: Johnny DeMoss, 54, of Bellville passed away Monday morning, Jan. 25, 2016 at home surrounded by his loving family following a courageous battle with cancer.
The son of Jerry and Marie (Rief) DeMoss, Johnny was born Oct. 31, 1961 in Augsburg, Germany.
On Feb. 23, 1982 Johnny married Lisa Wolfgang and the two remained Bellville residents.
Johnny worked for MCF Industries as a machinist.
Encouraging and energetic, Johnny loved sports and enjoyed coaching his children. He coached traveling softball, volunteered as pitching coach for the Clear Fork Lady Colts softball program and assisted in coaching the Lady Colts varsity soccer team as well. Johnny also worked the chains for the Clear Fork varsity home football games. An avid collector, he collected knives, model cars and an assortment of other items.
Friendly and kind, Johnny could also show his ornery side by playing practical jokes.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Lisa (Wolfgang) DeMoss of Bellville; son Michael (Lora) DeMoss of Bellville and daughter Christina (William) Porter of Bellville: grandchildren Madison, Aiden, Nicholas, Eloise, and Alaina; half brother Frank Martin of Germany; step brother Deiter (Heidi) Fuenfer of Michigan; sister-in-law Sandra (Tom) Armstrong and brothers-in-law Ronald (Katie) Wolfgang and Gary Wolfgang; as well as nieces, nephews, and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2016 from 1-3 p.m. & 5-7 p.m. in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home where funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. Pastor Ruth Douglas will officiate and burial will follow in Zion Four Corners Cemetery.
