Sharon E. (Fugett) Purdy, 71, of Mansfield, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, Jan. 23, 2016, following a lengthy illness.

Sharon was born on Jan. 18, 1945, in East Chicago, Indiana, to Quentin and Oranie E. (Engle) Fugett. She was a member of Mansfield Baptist Temple, and loved her church. She exemplified Christ’s love for us, in her walk on this earth. Sharon enjoyed spending most of her time as beloved “Nana” in providing love and care for her grandchildren. She enjoyed taking care of her family and cooking.

She married John Purdy on May 7, 1966, and they would have celebrated their 50th anniversary this year.

She is survived by her husband John; three children, Jeff Purdy, of Mansfield, Kristy (Tim) Robinson, of Perrysville, and Stefanie Symsick, of Mansfield; seven grandchildren, Allyson Purdy, Alexandra Purdy, Dylan Purdy, Micah Robinson, Garrett Dotson, Lillian Symsick, Leah Symsick, and soon to arrive, Lyla Symsick; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, Michael Fugett, Robert Fugett, and John Symsick.

Calling hours will be from 4 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2016 at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, 1106 Park Avenue East, Mansfield, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 28, 2016, at the funeral home with calling hours starting at 10 a.m. Pastor Rob Kurtz will be officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Memorial Park, Lexington.
