Frederick W. Lake Jr., 62, of Galion passed away Friday, Jan. 22, 2016 at home unexpectedly.
Born Feb. 23, 1923 in Trenton, Michigan, he was the son of the late Frederick W. Sr. and Evelyn Ruth (Butler) Lake.
He was a graduate of Galion High School and served in Vietnam in the United States Navy and was a Purple Heart Recipient. Fred was a self-employed carpenter and enjoyed fishing, mechanical work and wood working.
Fred had children Michelle Lake, of Galion, Scott (fiancée Jennie) Lake, of Taylor, Michigan, Frederick W. Lake III, of Brownstown, Michigan, and Billy Ray Lake; grandchildren Jackson Horvath, Joseph (fiancée Harley Watt) Horvath, Matteo, Haili, Wyatt, Alivea, Alexus, Alex and Austin Lake; brothers Harold (Terry) Lake, Larry (Cherry) Lake and Lewis Lake and sisters Nancy (John) Schmandt, Mary Wilson, Ruth (Marty) Roe and Violet “Peggy” (John) Allison.
Private services will be held for the family.
