Shirley A. Conley, 68, died Saturday, Jan. 9, 2016 at Grant Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
Born July 12, 1947, in Shelby, to Vernon and Burl (Knowlton) Couch, she was an Indiana resident the majority of her life before moving to Shelby six years ago to be closer to her family.
She was formerly employed with Starcraft Company and Greenfield Research working in business management and engineering. She also ran a trucking company along with her husband, Johnie Conley.
Shirley enjoyed sewing, quilting, and will be remembered for her kind heart and willingness to help others.
Survivors include her children, Duane and Ada Conley, of Polk, Ohio, Melissa Conley, of Shelby and Johnie Conley, and fiancé Kristina Metheny, of Stugis, Michigan; grandchildren Justine, Shirley “Kyra,” Chantel, Kassidy, Elizabeth, Samuel and Caleb; great grandchildren Jaicee and Jaribela; her mother Burl Couch; sisters Connie (Weaver) Lambert, Karen Cochran, Sandra Baker, Bonnie White; brother Greg Couch and other relatives.
Friends may call at the Barkdull Funeral Home and Crematory in Shelby Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2016 from 1 to 4 p.m. Memorial services will be held in Indiana at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the family.
