Jacqueline J. Hayes

Jacqueline J. Hayes, 76, of Mansfield, Ohio passed away on Jan. 8, 2016 at Willows of Bellevue.

She was born on Sept. 4, 1939 in Mansfield, to Phil and Wilhamina (Schwaner) Stirtzinger.

Jacqueline lived her whole life in Mansfield, and graduated from Mansfield Senior High. She spent her life as a homemaker, raising her family. Music was a large part of her life. She was the Junior Choir director at St. John’s United Church of Christ. She was a part of the Mansfield Symphony Chorus, and would sing at weddings.

Jacqueline was also a daycare provider, and loved children. She was an animal lover, too.

She is survived by her four sons, Greg (Mona) Hayes, Tim (Debi) Hayes, Mike (Amy) Hayes, James (Denise) Hayes; eight grandchildren; two brothers, Phillip (Mary) Stirtzinger, and Karl Stirtzinger; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Orville L. Hayes Jr.; and one brother, David L. Stirtzinger.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, Jan. 14, 2016 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Jan. 15, 2016 at 2 p.m., also at the Ontario Home. Burial will follow at Mansfield Memorial Park.
