William A. “Bill” Andrews, 83, of Galion passed away Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2016 at Signature HealthCARE in Galion.

He was born Feb. 14, 1932 in Galion and was the son of Paul R. and Beulah P. (Fox) Andrews. Bill is survived by his wife of 62 years, Shirlee J. (Young) Andrews who he married on Nov. 21, 1953.

He graduated from Galion High School in 1950 and attended The Ohio State University. After college, Bill proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He owned and operated the former Andrews Dairy in Galion and later the Andrews Mechanical Service until his retirement.

Bill formerly attended the First United Methodist Church in Galion. He was a life member of the Galion Elks Lodge 1191, American Legion Scarbrough Post 243 of Galion and enjoyed fishing and bird watching.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughters A. Jacqueline Littleton, of Townville, South Carolina, Julie K. (Eric) Zortman, of Nelsonville and Jodi L. Andrews, of Galion; 5five grandchildren Janell, Nicole, Mark, Jessica and Cara; four great grandchildren and a sister, Bette “Jo” (Robert) Werling, of Wilmington, North Carolina.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister Evelyn “Jane” Gill.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 10, 2016 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 S. Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 11 with Rev. David Milroy officiating. An Elks memorial service will be held Sunday at 3:30 p.m. during calling hours. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

Full military honors will be conducted by the United States Army and Galion Crestline Veterans Military Funeral Detail.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Galion Elks Lodge Veterans Fund in care of the funeral home.
