MANSFIELD, Ohio – The Ohio State University at Mansfield will hold auditions for the musical comedy “Damn Yankees” at 7 p.m. Jan. 12 and 13 in Founders Auditorium on the Mansfield Campus.
Auditions are open to all and consist of 16 measures of a Broadway-style song (you bring the sheet music, we provide the accompanist), reading from the script (excerpts are provided), and instruction in a short dance sequence (wear clothes and shoes that allow you to move freely).
Prepared monologues: A copy of the script and vocal score is available on reserve at the circulation desk in the Bromfield Library and Information Commons on campus. The musical calls for 8 to 16 men and 6 to 8 women.
The musical performance is scheduled for March 3 through 6, directed by Drew Traxler with music direction by Ohio State Mansfield Professor David Tovey.
