ONTARIO, Ohio — T.G.I. Friday’s restaurant is expected to open Feb. 8, according to General Manager Gary Dawson.
The building first became vacant when Johnny Biggs Booze N’ Burgers closed on Aug. 29, 2015 due to a desire to reopen T.G.I. Friday’s. The same company owns the two restaurant chains, Dawson said. Johnny Biggs first moved in to the building in 2009.
Bar Manager Nicci See said she’s excited for the renovations.
“The building is going to look awesome. There’s only one like it and that’s in Addison, Texas,” See said, who’s been in the restaurant business for 17 years. “And the bar is gorgeous.”
She also said there are plans to hold weekly and monthly events. Dawson could not disclose what types of events.
Dawson said the new restaurant will include a bar almost half the size of the dining area and feature an outdoor patio.
“There will still be seating for folks not wanting to sit at the bar,” assured Dawson. “Once you walk in you go, ‘wow.’ It’s a new style and completely renovated.”
According to Dawson, the restaurant is hiring for every position at the Country Inn and Suites in Ontario until the restaurant is turned over to them on Jan. 15.
Interviews paused for the new year holiday but will start up again on Monday, Jan. 4 and last for another two or three weeks, Dawson said.
