Glenna Myers

Glenna Myers, 102, of Ashland, passed away early Thursday morning, Dec. 31, 2015, at Crystal Care Center in Ashland.

She was born July 17, 1913, in Columbus, Ohio, to the late Rev. Stanley and Edith (Thomas) Johnson.

She was an honors graduate of Carrollton High School in 1931. Glenna retired from Ohio Edison Company after 21 years of service. She was a member of the Ohio Edison Company Retirees Club, A.A.R.P., Halcyn Club, and former board member of Ashland County Senior Citizens.

Glenna was a faithful member of First Christian Church where she formerly served as an elder, taught Sunday school for 40 years, and was a member of Christian Women’s Fellowship.

She is survived by three children, Robert (Carolyn) Myers, of Ashland, Carol Ackerson, of Michigan and Ronald Myers, of Dublin, Ohio; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; five step grandchildren; eight step great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Loyal Myers on March 12, 2009; a grandson, Robert Myers, Jr.; sister, Grace Linerode; and two brothers, Carl and Clifford Johnson.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 4, 2016, in the Ashland Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 308 Claremont Ave. The funeral service conducted by Rev. David Zerby will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Jeromesville Cemetery.
