Brittany Knox, 27, passed away Saturday, Dec. 19, 2015 at Grant Medical Center in Columbus following an extended illness.
She was born Feb. 13, 1988 to parents Charles and Rosella (McNew) Knox in Mansfield. Although raised in Mansfield, Brittany graduated from Wellston High School with the Class of 2007, where she enjoyed many extracurricular activities, including cheerleading, softball, and dance. After high school, she furthered her education at the University of Rio Grande.
She was very involved in Lincoln Heights Church of Christ in Christian Union in Mansfield. Brittany invited so many of her peers to church on Wednesday nights that her mom’s car would be full of kids. She loved leading people to the Lord and volunteering for ministry at area nursing homes alongside her mom.
Brittany was very loyal to her friends and family and they will miss her dearly. She will be remembered for her heart of gold and sense of humor.
She is survived by her loving mother with whom she was very close, Rosella McNew Knox and Donald Morrow of Wellston; father Chuck Knox of Mansfield; her 6-year-old son Braxton Thomas Knox-Ousley, of Wellston; aunts and uncles: Chris and Dan Yahn, of FL, Cheryl & Barry Jones of Lexington, Bill & Marilyn Knox of WV, Barb Rettig of Bucyrus, Christy & Dave Pigman of Mansfield, and Jeanie & Norm Houtsinger of PA; a step-grandfather, Willy Linden of FL; along with numerous cousins, friends, and extended family.
She was preceded in death by maternal grandparents George & Rosann McNew, a special great-grandfather Richard Alvin Armbrust, and a very special uncle Richard McNew.
