Stephen Wiecher

It is with deep sadness that we share with you the passing of our son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend, Stephen Patrick Wiecher. He died in his sleep in Fort Collins, Colorado, on October 29, 2015.

Stephen, 42, was an avid reader, lover of dogs, skiing, snow and comic book characters. His love of literature ranged from short stories to deep novels, with a special appreciation for Calvin & Hobbes and The Simpsons, along the way.

He was a proud 1992 graduate of St. Peter’s Schools. He attended colleges in the Cleveland area and Mansfield. Stephen was a student of life. With a clever smile and a twinkle in his eye, he enjoyed collecting stories from people, always weaving a great novel in his mind.

He was fun, and a little mischievous. He loved his Jack Russell terriers, Scout and Moby, who aided him in gathering new friends and stories to share. Stephen shared the wisdom of Star Wars, super heroes, comic books and science fiction novels with his nephews and nieces.

He is survived by his parents Dr. Fred & Jane Wiecher; his sisters and their families, Elizabeth & Brad, Cooper and Graham Pierce of Cincinnati and Catherine & Matt, Turner, Janey, Hank, Georgia and Ross Brunell of Natick, MA; aunts and uncles, Patricia & Stan Ritchie, Martha & Fran Voll, Frances & Don Scuilli, Virginia & Ed Kleinman, and Josephine Kirst; along with numerous cousins and close friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Martha & Ed Wiecher, maternal grandparents Orla & Louise Hockman, his cousin Scott Kleinman and friends dear to him.

Friends may call Friday, December 11, 2015, from 3-7 p.m. with Vigil services to be held at 6:30 p.m. at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield, Ohio.
