MANSFIELD, Ohio — Richland County Transit is offering free bus services the first three Saturdays in December to support the community.
The free bus trips will be offered Dec. 5, 12 and 19 from 10 a.m. to approximately 4 p.m. For information on the routes, call the RCT bus garage at 419-522-4504.
“We do it more or less as a benefit to our riders — we know that that’s a time of year when they really need to maybe get out a little bit more and accomplish their shopping and other needs, so it’s an opportunity for us to give back to our riders,” RCT Board Fiscal Officer Kathy Adams said. “And we don’t feel that it busts the budget. It’s doable.”
RCT is also allowing riders to donate a new or gently used toy in lieu of a fare from Nov. 30 to Dec. 5. All toys will be donated to Toy Time.
The next RCT board meeting takes place Nov. 16 at 8:30 a.m. at the bus garage, located at 232 N. Main St.
