COLUMBUS, Ohio – OhioHealth will take the next step in its integration of MedCentral Health System by renaming its hospitals, on October 24, 2015, to OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital and OhioHealth Shelby Hospital.

OhioHealth MedCentral leaders received positive feedback from associates and community members during the decision-making process.

“The new hospital names will make locations and services clear for our patients and community members, allow the individual hospitals to have their own identity in the OhioHealth system, and strengthen the OhioHealth brand and our commitment to the communities that we serve,” said Jean Halpin, president of OhioHealth MedCentral Hospitals.

Renaming is a large undertaking that will not happen overnight. Name badges, signage, patient bills and patient white boards will be updated in the coming months, but other updates will take more time.

“The hospitals made significant strides and accomplished much over the past 19 months, including significantly reducing emergency department service times, recruiting close to 30 physicians and constructing the 156,000-square-foot Medical Offices and Surgical Suites on the Mansfield campus,” added Halpin.

An adjoining parking garage is currently under construction.

The project is part of a $120-million dollar investment OhioHealth is making in Richland County.

The Public is Invited

The community is invited to attend a community open house of the new facility, at 335 Glessner Avenue, Mansfield, on Saturday, Oct. 24, from 1:30 to 5 p.m.
