MANSFIELD, Ohio — The Richland County Board of Elections needs poll workers for the Nov. 3 general election, as well as the March 15, 2016 Presidential Primary and the Nov. 8, 2016 Presidential General Election.
There is a class to train new workers on Friday, Oct. 16 at the Longview Center, 1495 W. Longview Ave. in the upper level classroom. This class will last from 1:30 to approximately 4 p.m., and the compensation for this training session is $25.
The new workers would then need to attend a regular poll worker “Station Training” session. That event gives more of an individual one-on-one instruction on specific procedures involved with processing the voters.
The pay for this training is an additional $20. The dates and times for these classes are: Saturday, Oct. 17 from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m.; Monday, Oct. 19 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The compensation for working the polls on Election Day is $165 for Presiding Judges, $140 for Presiding Assistants, and $130 for regular workers/clerks. Checks are mailed approximately one week after the election, with no taxes or other deductions.
For more information or to sign up for the classes, contact the Board of Elections at 419-774-5530.
