Ron F. Farquhar, 95, of Loudonville died Thursday morning, Oct. 8, 2015 in McMullen Assisted Care Center, Loudonville. Ron was born March 25, 1920 in Jefferson Township, Knox County, the son of the late James Edward and Ruby Ellen (Gessling) Farquhar.
He was a 1938 graduate of Danville High School and U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Ron was an insurance agent and owner of Farquhar Insurance Agency for over 50 years. He was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, Rotary Club of Loudonville since 1952, serving as President from 1964-65 and 2000-2001. He was a Paul Harris Fellow and was Rotary District 660 Governor from 1972-1973. He had served his community as Mayor of Loudonville and also on the Village Council.
He is survived by Myron Farquhar of Jeromesville and two nieces and one nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Mabel Sellers Farquhar on April 17, 2013.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Oct. 12 at 11 a.m. in Lindsey Funeral Home, Loudonville with Rev. Tom Fish officiating. Burial with military honors conducted by the American Legion and VFW will be in Loudonville Cemetery.
