MANSFIELD, Ohio – The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) has issued a report listing construction areas and expected road closings and delays for the week of Sept. 14.
Ashland County
State Route 39
State Route 39, from state Route 603 in Richland County to the Holmes County line, is restricted to one lane of traffic as part of a resurfacing project. One lane of two-way traffic is maintained with flaggers. The project is expected to be complete by Nov. 30.
U.S. Route 42
U.S. 42, at East Main Street in the City of Ashland, is closed as part of an intersection improvement project. The detour route for truck traffic is U.S. 42 to U.S. Route 30, east on U.S. 30 to Interstate 71, north on I-71 to U.S. Route 250, west on U.S. 250 to U.S. 42, and reverse for southbound motorists. The project will be complete in November.
State Route 89
State Route 89, between U.S. 42 and state Route 302 in Jackson Township, is now open.
State Route 179
State Route 179, between the village of Hayesville and the Holmes County line, is reduced to one lane of traffic as part of a preventive maintenance chip seal project. One lane of two-way traffic will be maintained with flaggers at all times. The project is expected to be complete by Oct. 31.
State Route 604
State Route 604, between U.S. Route 42 and the Wayne County line, is reduced to one lane of traffic as part of a preventive maintenance chip seal project. One lane of two-way traffic will be maintained with flaggers at all times. The project is expected to be complete by Oct. 31.
Crawford County
State Route 98
State Route 98, from the Marion County line to state Route 4, is restricted to one lane of traffic as part of a resurfacing project. State Route 4, between state Route 98 and Charles Street, will also be resurfaced as part of this project. One lane of two-way traffic will be maintained with flaggers at all times. The project is expected to be complete by Oct. 31.
State Route 602
State Route 602, just south of Cox Road in Sandusky Township, is closed for a culvert replacement. The detour route for northbound motorists is state Route 602 to County Road 330, east on CR 330 to state Route 598, north on state Route 598 to state Route 96, west on state Route 96 to state Route 602, and reverse for southbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen Sept. 21.
Richland County
State Routes 13, 39, 430, 545 & U.S. Route 42 – ***UPDATE***
State Routes 13, 39, 430, 545 and U.S. Route 42 in the City of Mansfield are being resurfaced as part of an urban paving program. One lane of two-way traffic will be maintained at all times with flaggers. The project will be complete in late October.
U.S. Route 42 – ***UPDATE***
U.S. 42, between Smith Avenue and 8th Avenue in the City of Mansfield, is closed for a bridge repair. The detour route for northbound motorists is U.S. 42 to state Route 39, west on state Route 39 to state Route 545, north on state Route 545 to U.S. Route 30, east on U.S. 30 to U.S. 42, and reverse for southbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen Sept. 23.
State Route 61
State Route 61, between state Route 314 and state Route 181 in the village of Crestline, has intermittent single lane restrictions for work as part of a preventative maintenance project. Pavement repairs are expected to begin on Tuesday, Sept. 8. One lane of two-way traffic will be maintained at all times with flaggers. The project is expected to be complete by October.
Interstate 71
I-71, between the Morrow County line and the state Route 39 interchange, has intermittent lane closures as part of a preventative maintenance project. One lane of traffic will be maintained from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Monday through Thursdays, while two lanes will be maintained during the day in each direction. Work is expected to be complete by Oct. 31.
County Road 31 Closure – ***UPDATE***
CR 31 (Bellville-Johnsville Road), between Ritter Road and Mann Road, is closed for a bridge replacement project. The detour route for westbound motorists is CR 31 to State Route 97, northwest on state Route 97 to Mock Road, west on Mock Road to State Route 546, south on state Route 546 to CR 31, and reverse for eastbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen Sept. 30.
Township Road 383 – ***UPDATE***
TR 383 (Hay Road), between McCurdy Road and Brokaw Road in Butler Township, is closed for a bridge replacement. The detour route for northbound motorists is Brokaw Road east to McCurdy Road, McCurdy Road west to TR 383, and reverse for southbound motorist. TR 383 is estimated to reopen Sept. 30.
