GALION, Ohio — Jennifer Kuns has been promoted to the role of assistant vice president at United Bank.

Her previous position was banking officer.

“My actual duties really aren’t going to change; there’s just more responsibility,” she said.

“Jennifer has been responsible for our residential mortgage area for several years and more recently took on the role of overseeing the indirect and collections departments,” said Donald R. Stone, President of United Bank, N.A., Division of The Park National Bank in a press release. “Under her leadership, the mortgage, indirect, and collections areas have all performed at a high level and should continue to do so.”

Her office will continue to be located in the Galion branch.

Kuns has been with United Bank since 2003.

“I started out as a loan officer and then a banking officer and now AVP, and then the next progression would be VP [vice president],” she said. And she said she has aspirations to continue advancing her banking career.

Prior to working at United Bank, she was a realtor in Columbus from 1994-2001.

Kuns attended both Columbus State and Hondros College, as well as completed the Ohio Bankers League Bank Leadership Institute.

She’s served on the Galion City School Board for the past six years (she’s currently board president), the Galion-Crestline Area Chamber of Commerce–of which she was board chair for three years, and most recently, the Galion Historical Society.

“I like to give back to the community,” she said.

Joe Kleinknecht, president of the chamber of commerce, noted that because of her community involvement and in recognition of her years of service with the chamber, she was named “Professional of the Year” by the chamber.

Kuns resides in Galion with her husband, Scott, and three children Lindsey, Jordan and Garrett.

United Bank is located in Galion, Crestline, Bucyrus, Marion, Prospect and Caledonia.
