MANSFIELD, Ohio – Main Street Books is excited to announce the return of 24-Hour Comics Day this October. From noon on Saturday, Oct. 3 through noon on Sunday, Oct. 4, participants in 24HCD will be attempting the ultimate challenge: creating a 24-page comic in 24 hours.
This challenge is open to comic enthusiasts of all ages and artistic levels. It offers the unique opportunity to work among other like-minded comic book lovers, to share the creative energy and momentum. This is Main Street Book’s third year of participating in 24-Hour Comics Day.
This event is a challenge to conceptualize, draw, write, pen and color an entire, 24-page comic in as many hours. While few are able to complete the challenge, we all have a great time. Many participants spend the night at the bookstore, working through the wee hours. No one is required to stay the whole time, of course, and you’re welcome to come and go. All ages and experience levels are welcome. There is plenty of laughing, consulting, advising, napping, and snacking that goes on at the same time.
Some snacks and drinks will be available with several restaurants and a coffee shop nearby. Bringing your own materials is encouraged, but some will be available. There will always be a store employee on the premises.
24HCD is a worldwide event. Visit 24HourComicsDay.com for additional information. If you think you might be interested or have any questions, give call Main Street Books at 419-522-BOOK. RSVPs are appreciated.
