MANSFIELD: Wilma Jean Montgomery passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus Monday, August 31, 2015 in Ohio Health MedCentral Hospital. She was 77.
She was born November 15, 1937 to parents Warren & Mary (Rose) Lowe in Olive Hill, Ky. On April 17, 1954, she married Ronald Montgomery and they spent 61 wonderful years together.
Jean faithfully attended the Church of God in Etowah, Tennessee until moving to the area last year.
Though Jean was gifted with many talents, she excelled at cooking. Cabbage rolls and chocolate pies were her specialty. In spare time, she took pleasure in gardening. It was said that you could not find a single weed in her beds. Jean was all about family. She enjoyed every minute with her family, but above all, Jean cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Ronald Montgomery; children Beverly (Jerry) Cassity, Karen King, Dave (Jackie) Montgomery; grandchildren Nathan (Dawniel) King, Danielle Maples, Cody (Kara) Montgomery, Kaylin Cassity, Callie Montgomery; seven great-grandchildren; siblings Polly and Benson as well as extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings Eulah, Kermit, Bill Geraldine and Helen; and a grandson-in-law Justin Maples.
A graveside service honoring Jean’s life will be held Thursday, September 3, 2015 at 11 a.m. in the mausoleum at Oak Grove Memorial Park with Quillie Dasher speaking.
