LEXINGTON: Kenneth Russell “Ken” Miller, of Lexington, went to be with the Lord Friday evening, August 21, 2015 in Hospice House in Ashland surrounded by his family. He was 64.
He was born January 7, 1951 in Ludlow, Kentucky to parents Frank Ralph & Pauline (Alexander) Miller. After he was graduated from Lexington High School, he furthered his education at North Central State College where he earned his associates degree.
While working at Sears, a credit department worker named Bonnie Hardin caught his eye and the pair soon married on April 10, 1971. Ken continued to work for Sears, managing several departments, for over 20 years and he loved finding good deals on clothing for his two daughters and granddaughters. Ken had a giving spirit, and often purchased new items to donate directly to Harmony House. Ken retired in 2014 from MedCentral’s IT department.
In spare time, Ken enjoyed going to antique car shows—especially the Mecum Auto Show in Indianapolis. He was a loving and supportive husband, father, and grandfather. He took great pride in taking care of his family.
Ken was a member of Berean Baptist Church where he served as Treasurer in the early days of inception.
He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years Bonnie Miller of Lexington; two daughters: Jackie Martin and Angela Miller both of Mansfield; two granddaughters: Audrey Martin (age 9) and Delaney Martin (age 5); a brother Don Miller of Indiana; two nephews Robert Miller and Gary Miller; two nieces Linda Cromer and Diane Goldsmith; a sister-in-law Carol Miller; along with extended family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death by a brother Robert Miller.
His family will receive friends 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, August 26, 2015 in Snyder Funeral Home (2553 Lexington Avenue in Mansfield). A funeral service to honor Ken’s life will be held 11 a.m. Thursday in the Chapel at Berean Baptist Church (2145 Middle Bellville Road in Mansfield) and Pastor Bill Heaton will officiate.
