Local man’s death under investigation

MANSFIELD, Ohio — The Richland County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a death after a man’s body was found in a private pond on Garver Road early Sunday afternoon.

The body of 70-year-old Paul Sweeney, 774 Garver Road, was found at 11:51 a.m., according to a Richland County Sheriff’s Office report.

Sweeney’s body was transported to the coroner’s office. The death is currently under investigation.
