Richland Gives

MANSFIELD, Ohio – The Richland County Foundation awarded over $13,000 in Teacher Assistance Program (TAP) grants for the upcoming school year to local teachers for their creative and innovative supplemental programs not covered by school funding.

The grants are given directly to K-12 teachers in public or private Richland County schools to encourage them to develop new programs, projects, or events for their classrooms. Grants were given to the following teachers and projects:

Clear Fork Middle School

• Thomas Staab for “Live Right! Know Your Blood Type!”

• Sherry Dawson for “8th Grade STEM Class”

Crestview Middle School

• Jennifer Blackledge for “Learning to Code with Ozobot Bit”

• Jason Goon for “Pedometer Power!”

• Pamela Taylor for “Write On! I’m Published!”

Lexington

• Central Elementary School, Amy Richwine for “Score with a Common Core”

• Central Elementary School, Michelle Rastetter for “Seasonal Scientists”

• Junior High School, Valerie Fraizer for “Stained Glass Cont. Collaboration Installation”

Mansfield City Schools 

• Malabar Intermediate School, Kathryn Toney for “Empowered Against Injustice: By the Lives of Others”

• Mansfield Senior High School, Scott Toney for “Games Forever for Special Needs Kids”

St. Mary’s – Mansfield

• Elementary School, Kathy Rall for “Building Literacy through Lego Education”

St. Mary’s – Shelby

• Elementary School, Donna Strout for “The Great Outdoor Experience”

The Richland County Foundation was established in 1945 as a way for individuals to pool and invest their gifts for the long-term good of Richland County and its residents.
