SHELBY, Ohio – Pioneer High School will host Welcome Week the week of Aug. 11 to allow students to visit the building, register, pick up schedules, have their picture ID made, and pay school fees for the school year.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to visit the website at www.go2pioneer.com prior to Welcome Week to download and complete the required student forms. Those who do not have access to the internet or a printer are asked to please come prepared with phone numbers and addresses of emergency contacts (including dentist, doctor, and hospital information.)
This will assist parents in completing the following forms: Application for free or reduced priced meals, if applicable; emergency medical authorization form; and a required signature form.
Picture IDs will be taken at this time (Note: seniors will use their IDs from last year.) There is no additional cost for this first ID; replacements will be $5 each. Students are required to wear their ID in the building at all times. Students will pick up their picture IDs from their Career-Tech lab instructors on the first day of school by 8:05 a.m. and proceed to their first period class by 8:10 a.m.
Students are encouraged to take advantage of their partner school bus transportation. If students need to drive and agree to follow all the driving regulations listed, they may obtain the registration form during Welcome Week or from the Attendance Office once school is in session. Completed forms and the parking fee must be turned in before students are permitted to park on school property. The vehicle registration fee is $10. This fee allows for registration of two vehicles. Additional stickers will cost $1 each.
The first day of school for junior students and students new to Pioneer is Friday, August 21. All remaining senior students who previously attended Pioneer will begin school on Monday, August 24. All students should report by 8:05 a.m.
Below is the preferred schedule students and parents should follow. Each Career-Tech lab has a scheduled day for this week. Parents/guardians are encouraged to choose the day best suited to their schedule.
