Irvin Meyers

Irvin Meyers, 88, of Mansfield passed away Friday evening, July 24, 2015 in his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born July 16, 1927 to parents Harry & Freida Meyers in Crestline.

As a teenager Irvin served in the Navy during both WWII and the Korean War.

Following his honorable discharge from the Navy, Irvin began working at Nabisco as a deliveryman. He retired after 35 years. He then delivered pictures and film for Fujifilm. Detailed and meticulous, Irvin kept his lawn in pristine condition.

Irvin was a member of the Emanuel Jacob Congregation.

His main focus was caring for his loving wife Beverly (Callahan) Meyers. The two shared 66 years of marriage.

In addition to Beverly, he is survived by his son Jeff (Jill) Meyers of Mansfield; grandchildren Michael Meyers, Megan Meyers, and Matthew (JJ) Meyers; great grandchildren Isaiah, Mya, Matthew, Jr., and Sayde; special nephew Michael Callahan; as well as extended family.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his son Barry Meyers and brother Samuel Meyers.

His family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2015 in the Marion Avenue Snyder Funeral Home where a funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. Rabbi Michael Oppenheimer will officiate and burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery, where military honors will be performed by the Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Detail.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his memory to Home Care Matters Hospice may be made through the funeral home.
