SHELBY, Ohio – Candidates for village and township offices and school board seats have until 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 5 to file their nominating petitions with the board of elections.
At the Nov. 3, general election, voters will choose a trustee and the fiscal officer in each township, except in Jackson Township where voters will elect three trustees. Plymouth and Shiloh voters will elect a mayor and two council members in each village.
Generally, two board of education seats are open in area school districts.
The Shelby Area Democratic Club can provide technical assistance to local candidates in areas such as ballot access, campaigning, and campaign finance.
