The Ashland Bicentennial Committee has commissioned the printing of the Ashland Bicentennial Official Guide Book and the book is now available for purchase.
The guide is an 8.5-inch-by-11-inch paperback publication that contains 102 pages of content ranging from a 200-year timeline of Ashland’s history to the complete schedule of events for Ashland’s Bicentennial to a number of feature articles on the history of Main Street, Ashland University, Samaritan Hospital, and the Police and Fire Departments.
“The feature articles along with the large variety of photos provide snapshots of life in Ashland throughout the last 200 years,” said Matt Wurster, project coordinator for the book.
Wurster worked with a number of people like Betty Plank and David Roepke as well as Chris Box at the Ashland Historical Society to collect and organize the information. Ashland’s Bookmasters did the actual design work and the printing for the project.
The cost of the guide book is $10 and it can be purchased at certain Bicentennial events as well as through the Bicentennial website at www.ashland200.com, or at Home Hardware. Production of the guide was sponsored by the Wurster family.
The City of Ashland is celebrating its 200th year anniversary during 2015 and will be hosting many different events as part of the year-long celebration, which is sponsored by Donley Auto Group.
