Employees receiving the grants have volunteered 40 hours or more to their grant recipient within a six-month period.

The Foundation distributed 774 matching time grants representing approximately 64,750 volunteer hours in 2014. These grants, totaling $387,000, help support 488 nonprofit organizations across the country.

“We are proud that our employees are making a difference through volunteerism and embody our vision of improving lives in the communities where we work and live,” said Mike Brill, CenturyLink’s vice president of operations for Ohio, Indiana and Michigan. “This is one of the many ways we encourage our employees to get involved at a local level.”
