Lise Clancy’s light on this earth dimmed on Saturday, June 20, 2015, so it can shine brighter in heaven. Once in a while in our lives we are blessed to know someone who has a gift of providing sunshine and it is contagious. She enriched the lives of everyone she met and entertained with her sense of humor and joy of life.
Lise was born January 11, 1955 in Mansfield to parents James & Helen (Adams) Bierly.
She was conservative and highly principled with a keen sense for what was the ‘right’ thing to do. Lise wrote her own rules and never tried to fit into a mold created by others. A lover of nature, she enjoyed planting gardens and knew the Latin names of everything that she tended. From feeding birds year-round to respecting wild creatures wandering into her yard, she was loved. Lise enjoyed music – especially classical and blues, and was a gifted, though rusty, pianist who had a strong bond with Beethoven.
Throughout her life she was an adventurer always open to new things. Lise lived in Idaho, Colorado, and North Carolina before moving back to Ohio. She sold cars, cooked in restaurants, bartended and was a hair stylist. After moving back to Ohio she worked for Mansfield Brass & Aluminum, tended perennials at Possum Run Greenhouse, and had her own business LC Castings.
Surviving Lise are her sisters Kyle Bierly and Lynn (Bill) Edmonds; brother Craig Bierly; Nephews and niece James, Dana and Madison Edmonds; step-mother Karen Bierly; Step-brother and sisters Scott Moody, Merry Troper, Molly Moody and Megan Dininger and their families; aunt, Ruth Willis and numerous cousins. In addition she is survived by her “Kids”: Digger, Peewee, Seli, Louie, Eddie, Lucky and Dukie.
Lise was preceded in death by her husband Warne Clancy, and her parents James and Helen Bierly.
A memorial gathering celebrating Lise’s life will be held Friday, June 26, 2015 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Finefrock Chapel of the Marion Avenue Snyder Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions in Lise’s memory can be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio or The James Cancer Center and may be made through the funeral home.
Snyder Funeral Homes is honored to serve Lise’s family and encourage you to share a fond memory or message of condolence to them, or watch her tribute video at SnyderFuneralHomes.com.
