Hager F. Arnett, 81, of Lucas, passed away late Saturday evening, June 20, 2015, at Samaritan Regional Hospital in Ashland, Ohio. He was born April 28, 1934, in Ashland, Kentucky, to the late James and Lida (Clay) Arnett.
Hager was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a licensed private pilot, working in the aviation field his entire life, and retired as an engineer at Midland Ross. He was a long-time member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Lucas. Hager was also a 50-year member of Venus Masonic Lodge #152, F. & A.M. and was a past member of the Lucas Lions Club, Woodworkers Association and Reinhard Muzzleloader’s Club.
Hager is survived by his wife, Wanda Banks Arnett; a sister, Beatrice Smith of Lakeland, FL; eight nieces and nephews, Bryon (Kerry) Banks of Chardon, OH, Michael (Suzie) Banks, Bobby (Dell) Banks and Jacquie (David) Tilton, all of Lucas, OH, Eric (Cheryl) Smith of FL, Ellen (Willis) Robinson of Marietta, OH and Mike Arnett and Mark Arnett, both of SC; and numerous great-nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Walter Arnett.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, 2015, in the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield, with Masonic Services at 5:30 p.m. Additional visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service which will be Thursday at 2:00 p.m. in St. Paul Lutheran Church, 106 W. Main Street, Lucas, Ohio. Dr. David Aune will conduct the service. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Contributions in memory of Hager may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
