R. Eugene Flood, 93, of Mansfield, was promoted to his heavenly home, Friday, May 29, 2015. He was born August 7, 1921, to the late Charles Curtis and Faye D. (Rosen) Flood. 

He graduated in June 1940 from Mansfield Senior High School. Gene was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving from March 25, 1946 to April 30, 1947. He formerly worked at Westinghouse Corp. as a production clerk, and Tracey, Avery and Sun Produce where he was a buyer and warehouse manager. Gene retired from Wagner Hardware after 23 years as a warehouse supervisor.

He was a member of Cornerstone Grace Brethren Church, life member of the Mansfield Motorcycle Club, life member of the American Motorcycle Association, Venus Masonic Lodge #152 F. & A.M., 32nd Degree Mason, Scottish Rite.

Gene is survived by his wife of 68 years, Velma E.(King) Flood; sons, Bradley Flood of Phoenix, AZ and Tim (Janet) Flood of North Lawrence, OH; three grandchildren, Clinton Flood of California, Bryce Flood of Phoenix, AZ and Erica Flood of Arizona; and a sister, Patricia A. Wilson of Lexington.

Gene’s family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at Primrose Retirement Community and Hospice of North Central Ohio.

The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Wednesday, June 3, 2015, in the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. Pastor Les Vnasdale will conduct the service at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio.
