MANSFIELD, Ohio – Richland Carrousel Park will host the Mansfield Children’s Festival on Saturday, June 13, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with free admission.

Families are invited to enjoy quality time with each other while taking part in the festivities.

Thanks to a generous donation by McDonald Family Restaurants, children 12 and under may ride the Carrousel free all day.

Richland Academy will host “Paint the Piano”; Little Buckeye Children’s Museum will host a “Fishing Booth”; and Downtown Mansfield is helping with coordinating of the event. Many businesses and organizations in the downtown and surrounding area are participating in the event.

There will be free prizes at the Carrousel every hour; other participants will have free popcorn and free orange drink. The Carrousel Grill will open at 11 a.m. with hot dogs for $1.50 and brats for $2.50.

Storybook Alpacas will be on the Carrousel lawn and Mechanics Money Machine will be inside the Carrousel. Little Bo-Tique will host a Hot Wheels Race Track.

DOJO Comics, StarTek, Mansfield Richland County Public Library, Be Focal Buy Local, Mansfield News Journal, Sweet Republica, The Boot Life, Toy Hunters and many others will provide activities for children.

This event was began as “Carrousel Celebrates Children” but as other organizations became interested and wanted to be a part of it, it evolved into Mansfield Children’s Festival.

The organization hopes it is the first annual event and will grow as people learn about it. “All participants want to let children know they are loved and appreciated. Companies and organization will provide an activity: a game, something to keep the attention of the children or educate them in some way,” said a press release regarding the event.
