Jenny L. Lewis, 56, of Mansfield, passed away Saturday morning, May 30, 2015, at her home. She was born November 12, 1958, in Mansfield, Ohio, to Carl Yeager, Sr. and Betty Jean (Hill) Yeager.
Jenny was a 1977 graduate of Madison High School and married her husband, Darrell Lewis on August 20, 1977. Family was most important to Jenny and she was actively involved in all her children’s and grandchildren’s activities. Her church, Mayflower Congregational Church, also benefited from her time and talents. She taught Sunday school, guided various youth groups and was a member of the Gathering Committee.
Although her family came first, Jenny also found time to own and operate her cleaning business for several years. She most recently was employed at the U.S. Postal Service for the past 12 years. Always busy, Jenny was a gifted artist and enjoyed indulging her creative nature through designing jewelry, painting, and drawing. She was very athletic and loved being on the water-skiing or fishing. A nature lover, she relaxed in her garden and loved animals of all kinds.
She leaves behind her husband of 38 years, Darrell Lewis; two wonderful children, Dannielle Patterson and Christopher Lewis; and three adored grandchildren, Darian, Kelli, and Xander. She is also survived by her mother, Betty Yeager; brother, Carl Yeager, Jr.; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Carl Yeager, Sr.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, June 4, 2015, in the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. The funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in Mayflower Congregational Church, 548 N. McElroy Rd., Mansfield, with Rev. Dr. Gary Wilson officiating. Additional visitation will begin at 10 a.m. in the church. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Mayflower Congregational Church or MedCentral Hospice.
