MANSFIELD, Ohio – In addition to its popular Camp Broadway! summer program which runs June 22-27, this year the Renaissance will host a second week of theatre camp from June 29-July 2. Camp Broadway, Too! combines all the fun, music, and performances of the original summer camp into a sensory-friendly experience for students with autism and their peers.

Limited space is available for this special opportunity. Tuition is $85, with full scholarships available. Classes take place June 29 through July 2, with classes from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. each day. The program culminates with a special performance for families on Thursday, July 2 at 4 p.m.

The Camp Broadway program allows students to explore the world of musical theatre and the elements of performance through theatre games, improv, and dramatic play as well as staging and singing.

Camp Broadway! is coordinated and led by Renaissance teaching artist Dauphne Maloney, well-known for her work with youth theatre in the North Central Ohio area. Maloney is also the founder and director of Mansfield Youth Theatre (MY Theatre), former Resident Director for the Renaissance Youth Opera Theatre (RYOT), and youth theatre director at the Mansfield Branch of the Ohio State University. She has directed and costumed over 200 productions, and served as the Youth Theatre Director for the Mansfield Playhouse for 20 years. Participating students will work directly with seasoned actors and actresses, as well as Renaissance Artistic Director Michael Thomas, an award-winning playwright and director.
