Lois Hogue Crissman, 83, formerly of Mansfield, OH, passed away Friday afternoon, April 17, 2015, at High Point Regional Hospital, NC.
Mrs. Crissman was born in Aspinwall, PA on August 4, 1931, to Alvin John and Edna Mae Schmitt Hogue. Lois retired from Richland County Treasurers Office and was active with the United Auto Workers Retirees. After relocating to Thomasville, NC in 2008 she stayed busy by knitting and crocheting, reading her Kindle, spoiling rescue dogs Levi, Wylie, Mocha, and Boomer, and remained an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
Lois is survived by “her girls” daughters, Shellie Crissman of Thomasville, NC, Cindy Crissman and Cindy Corlett of Lexington, NC; special family friends Lori Copelan, Sherry Blakely, Kathleen and John Clawson of NC, sister-in-law, Sally Donovan Hogue of Pittsburgh, PA, 2 nephews and a niece.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years James Peter in 2007, her parents and brother, Roy Edward Hogue of Pittsburgh, PA.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday, May 9, 2015 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church with Rev. Gregory Hite officiating. Calling hours will be held one hour prior at the church. Burial will follow at Mansfield Cemetery in the Veteran Honor Grounds.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to MANCI Cell Dogs, a non-profit organization that rescues and trains dogs for adoption, Relay for Life, or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
