MANSFIELD, Ohio – Registration continues for the 6th annual Heart of Ohio Fashion Dash 5K Run/Walk coming up Saturday, April 18, in Lexington.
Sponsored by Leadership Unlimited alumni and KeyBank, proceeds from this year’s 5K will benefit the Hooves for Heroes Veterans Program at Raemelton Therapeutic Equestrian Center.
Hooves for Heroes provides Equine Assisted Activities and Therapies (EAAT) to active, inactive, and retired veterans and their families. Raemelton, in partnership with the Veterans Administration in Mansfield, has recently expanded this program to provide Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) and Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) to veterans.
The course will be the B&O Bike Trail. Registration will start at 8 a.m. at the Senior Civic Center, 67 E. Main St., Lexington. The run/walk begins at 9 a.m. Participants are encouraged to “dress” in creative, patriotic-colored fashions.
Medals will be awarded to the top two men and women runners in each age bracket: 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60+. Trophies will be awarded to the top male and female overall runners and to the “best dressed” male and female participants.
There is an entry fee of $20 for those who register by Friday, April 10. Anyone who registers after April 10, including the day of the run/walk, must pay $25.
T-shirts, available the day of the event, are guaranteed for the first 100 participants.
