Margie W. Lester, 89, of Galion died Sunday, March 22, 2015 at Mill Creek Nursing Center in Galion after a lengthy illness.
Born April 29, 1926 in Fort Gay, W.Va. she was the daughter of Havana “Van” and Leona (Vicars) Webb. She married Bill Lester on January 29, 1945 and he preceded her on June 9, 1996.
She was a member of Greenbrier Baptist Church in Fort Gay, W.Va. for over 45 years and attended Gospel Baptist Church in Galion as long as her health permitted. Margie worked for Wayne County Community Services in West Virginia before moving to Ohio where she managed Lawson stores in Wooster and Galion with her husband.
She is survived by sons Lanny (Anita) Lester of Gallipolis and Michael Lester of Galion; grandchildren Eric (Annette) Lester, Matthew Lester, Nicole (Jimmy) McCoy and Michele (Travis) Tolar; eight great grandchildren; sister Yvonne Mead of Pt. Pleasant, W. Va.; close family friend Sally Streeter who was like a daughter to Margie and Bill; numerous nieces and nephews and friends whom she loved very much.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by daughter-in-law Cathy Lester and sister Barbara Haynie.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at Iberia Cemetery with Rev. Paul Walter officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association in care of the funeral home.
