Rodney A. Ulmer, 52, of Bucyrus passed away on Tuesday March 3, 2015 at his home. Rodney was born Jan. 13, 1963 in Bucyrus to the late Marvin F. Ulmer and Joyce (West) Ulmer Kocsis who survives, of Bucyrus.
Rod is also survived by sons Richard of Tiffin and Cody of Galion; their mother Sherry Weimer of Galion; longtime friend Sue Nickler of Bucyrus; step father Rev. Jack Kocsis of Bucyrus; brother Randy (Sandy) Ulmer of Bucyrus; nephews and nieces Kyle, Kayla, and Krista as well as Kimberly and Kevin Hines; and great nieces and nephews.
Rod had worked at Gochenour Meats in New Washington as a meat cutter for the last 9 years. He lived his entire life in this area and was a graduate of Colonel Crawford in 1981. Rod was a very social person who enjoyed life to the fullest. He especially enjoyed the outdoor activities such as fishing, boating, 4 wheeling, hunting, and cutting wood. Most of all Rod liked being around family and friends. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sulphur Springs and for many years maintained the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday March 9, 2015 at 11 a.m. in St. Paul Lutheran Church, Ridgeton Rd. with Rev. Hans Scherner officiating, burial will follow in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home on Sunday from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. Memorials may be made to the St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery Assoc. and expressions of sympathy can be left at munzpirnstill.com
