Clyde W. “Bill” Christine, 79, of Fredericktown, passed away unexpectedly Saturday afternoon, Feb. 21, 2015 in the Emergency Room of Knox Community Hospital. Bill was born Dec. 26, 1935 in Shreve and was the son of the late Lee Frederick and Mary (Sigler) Christine.
He was a Knox County/Fredericktown resident most of his adult life and a former Perrysville/Shreve area resident. Bill was a US Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict and was retired from Croton Egg Farm. He had also worked at the Flxible Company at Loudonville and in the construction trades. He was a member of the American Legion Post 257, Loudonville. Bill enjoyed fishing and hunting, cooking family dinners, and spending time with his great-grandchildren, whom he loved spoiling with cookies and sweets.
Bill is survived by his son, James (Lorraine) Christine of Delaware; his three daughters: Valerie (Mike) Heston of Columbus, Anastasia (Stan) Fry of Mt. Vernon, and Carrie (Craig) Buckles of Lawrence, KS; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Roger (Marlene) Christine of Loudonville and David (Sherry) Christine of Perrysville; and three sisters: Mary Ann Wigton of Loudonville, Shirley (Larry) Eggerton of Midvale, and Patricia (Lester) Bunker of Mansfield. He was preceded in death by his son, Joseph Perry Christine in 1978; his parents; and seven brothers: Harold, John Edgar, Lee Jr., Dean, Robert, John Edward, and Guy “Bub” Christine and two sisters: Laura May Christine and Fannie Drown.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, Feb. 27 at 1:30 p.m. in Lindsey Funeral Home, Loudonville with Pastor Roger Tickle of Grace Community Church, Mt. Vernon, officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Shreve. There will be no visitation.
