Avita Health System is opening a Walk-In Clinic at Avita Ontario on Saturday, Feb. 21. The Walk-In Clinic will be open seven days a week and is designed to provide convenient, fast treatment for injuries and conditions that are not critical, but need prompt attention.

The clinic operates similar to an urgent care and no appointment is necessary.  The Walk-In Clinic is able to provide care for patients of all ages.  “Avita knows at times illnesses and minor injuries occur during evenings and weekend hours,” commented Aimee Milligan, Vice President of Nursing for Avita Health System. “It is important that we provide an appointment-free option to provide care during those hours.” The Avita Ontario Walk-In Clinic is open Monday through Friday from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m, and on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Common conditions that will be treated in Avita’s new Walk-In Clinic includes colds, flu, sinus infections, eye irritations, minor injuries, lacerations, sore throats, urinary tract infections, work injuries, insect bites, sprains/strains, ear infections, bronchitis, and rashes. “If a patient arrives at the clinic with a serious illness or injury beyond the scope of the Walk-In Clinic, they will be sent to the Emergency Department with the appropriate level of transportation,” states Milligan.

The Walk-In Clinic at Avita Ontario is located right inside the Main Entrance off of Fourth Street at 715 Richland Mall and is located within the Specialty Center.
