Frederick Robert Mahler, 55, passed away Thursday evening, February 12, 2015 at Pomerene Memorial Hospital in Millersburg, OH.
He was born June 29, 1959 in Galion and was the son of the late Paul and Herta Mahler.
He is survived by his sister and brother in law, Karen Lopez and James Myers of Pinecrest, FL; he was a loving and caring uncle to his nephew Alexander Ryan Lopez and niece Christina Elizabeth Lopez, both of Pinecrest, FL. He leaves behind many loving and caring aunts, uncles, and cousins in Germany, as well as many members of the extended Mahler family in Galion.
Fritz proudly served in the U.S. Air Force, he completed basic training at Lackland AFB in Texas, and then was based at Grissom Air Reserve Base in Kokomo, Indiana. After his honorable discharge he returned to Galion and worked for the City of Galion.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 2:30 p.m. at Snyder Funeral Home Richardson Davis Chapel 218 S. Market Street, Galion Ohio 44833 with Pastor Richard Genzman officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Peace Lutheran Church in care of the funeral home.
