Darrell G. Greenhill, age 67, devoted administrator and member of Ashland Moose Lodge passed away Friday, February 6, 2015, at OhioHealth MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. He was born July 13, 1947, in Acme, West Virginia, to Russell and Vera (Crawford) Greenhill.
Darrell graduated from Mansfield Senior High School in 1965. He worked at Mansfield Tire and Rubber Co. until the plant closed, then worked as a bus driver for Madison Schools until his retirement. Darrell was a dedicated administrator at Ashland Moose Lodge, earning several awards and holding dual membership in Ashland and Mansfield lodges. He was very proud to have earned his Fellowship and Pilgrim Degrees. He was also a member of several other area clubs.
Darrell married Vaughn Barker on August 28, 1998, and she survives him. He is also survived by a son, Bryan Greenhill of Columbus; a daughter, Melissa Greenfield of Columbus; a step daughter, Terry Taylor of Polk; one granddaughter, Elizabeth Manley of Columbus; three grandsons, Christopher Manley of Columbus, Charlie Taylor of Polk, and Justin Crossen of Ashland,; several nieces and nephews; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; and special friends, Stan Shaum, Jack Middleton, Tom Curry, Don Hankins and Brenda and Robert Swanson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Janet Greenhill; and two brothers, Larry and Robert Lee Greenhill.
Pilgrim Services conducted by the Moose Lodge will be held at 4 p.m., Tuesday, February 10, 2015, in the Ashland Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 308 Claremont Ave. The family will receive friends in the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Maple Grove Church of the Brethren, 960 Orange Twp Rd. 964, Ashland, OH. Burial will follow in Nankin Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Mooseheart Child City and School, 255 W. James J. Davis Dr., Mooseheart, IL 60539.
