Janet Whitlock, age 75, died Wednesday evening, January 21, 2015 at her home in Shelby with her loving caregivers by her side.
Born February 27, 1939 in Columbus, Ohio to Selmer & Kathryn (Kelley) Whitlock, she had been a Shelby area resident since 1993.
She enjoyed watching the “Golden Girls” on TV, going to Seltzer Park to watch the ducks and especially loved McDonald’s French fries. Janet enjoyed singing hymns and her favorite song “You Are My Sunshine”. Janet also loved to attend All Care Services where she enjoyed being with her friends. She was very compassionate and loving towards her friends and caregivers and was known for giving a compliment in order to receive one.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents.
A very special thanks to Kathy, Betty, Sandra, Shanta, Marci, Brian, Darla and all the other caregivers for the loving care that was shown to our Miss Janet and for impacting her life over the years.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 26, 2015 at the Barkdull Funeral Home in Shelby. Reverend Brian Phillips will officiate with interment held in Ontario Cemetery.
