Robert Windom, who goes by Styx, at one time emphasized winning while coaching. Experience quickly taught him that if young athletes have a negative attitude, they’ve already lost.
From the sidelines, Styx works to motivate the youth under his charge. School and education are first and foremost. His program also teaches sportsmanship and a winning attitude. He has given twelve years to the youth basketball community as the coach of Blue Devils Basketball.
Styx often sees young athletes thrive long after they have left the sports program. Past program participants can be found in area programs such as Senior High, Madison, Ontario and Crestview.
Beyond the court, Styx works as a minister at Mount Calvary Baptist Church.
