Melissa Marie (Mong) Hedrick, 52, of Mansfield, died unexpectedly Thursday, January 15, 2015 at her residence. Born April 26, 1962 in Mansfield, she was the daughter of Raymond R. and Sondra I. (Norris) Mong.
She was a 1980 graduate of Malabar High School. A homemaker, she was a very loving, kind and gentle woman. She enjoyed gardening and animals but her greatest joy was spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by a daughter, Jessica (Tony) Pigott of Mansfield; a son, Zach (Samantha) Tolley of Mansfield; her significant other’s children, Jacob Rush and John Rush; a granddaughter, Jada Pigott; a grandson, Tramel Pigott; her mother, Sondra Peirce of Mansfield; her father, Raymond R. (Marilyn) Mong of Mansfield; grandparents, Paul and Pauline Ingold of Mansfield; three sisters, Lori (Richard) Kryspin of Columbus, Julianne Mong of Columbus, Misty (Michelle) Coleman of Gambier; a brother, Raymond (Stacey) Mong of Mansfield; several aunts and uncles; and two nieces and four nephews.
She was preceded in death by her significant others, Gilbert Rush, Jr. and Harry Rush; a sister, Mendy Mong; and grandparents, Robert H. and Esther Mong.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
