Good health ensures independence and productivity as we age, and often older adults struggle with health challenges. Approximately 80 percent of older adults have at least one chronic disease or condition, and 50 percent have at least two.
Healthy U Diabetes Class is a small group workshop that is designed to help older adults put life back in their life. Healthy U may be for you if you have long term challenges with diabetes or are a caregiver for someone with this challenge.
A benefit of participating in Healthy U is the support you will receive finding practical ways to deal with pain, fatigue and depression. This free class, which meets once a week for 6 weeks, will help you discover ways to be more physically active, find out how to eat healthier and practice ways to relax and deal with stress.
The first Healthy U Diabetes Workshop will be held on Jan. 12 at the Area Agency on Aging at Hawkins Corner, 2131 Park Avenue West, Ontario from 9:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.
This class is free and is open to anyone of any age, but you must register prior to the class.
