ONTARIO, Ohio – Republican Central Committee Chairman, Bob Rodgers, announced that the Ontario members of the party’s controlling committee, have selected Kenneth Earhart to fill the vacant seat on Ontario City Council. Earhart was one of several candidates considered to fill the unexpired term of the council-at-large position, following the Nov. 22 resignation of Neil Chitwood. 

Earhart owns and operates his own business, Ontario Mechanical, and has been a part of the Ontario community for over 45 years. He previously served a two-year term on Ontario City Council in 2002-2003 and worked on several community projects including chairman of Parks Committee, on the Marshall Park Recreational Complex, and the Ontario Industrial Park on Beer Road. 

Earhart stated that he “…will strive to work with current council members and Mayor [Hutchinson], and will actively pursue community involvement to ensure that decisions for the future of Ontario are based on common sense and family values.”

Kenneth Earhart is a 1981 graduate of Ontario High School and Pioneer Joint Vocational School and holds a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Toledo and a bachelor of arts degree in physics from Baldwin Wallace College. Earhart and his wife, Barbara, have two children, Ryan and Katie, who are also graduates of Ontario High School.
