Myron Webb

A stolen car investigation led to the arrest of two Mansfield men early Tuesday. Myron Webb, 38, and Roy Marshall, Jr., 43, face charges after a METRICH unit searched a Woodland Avenue residence.

Mansfield Police were investigating a stolen vehicle in the 500 block of Woodland Avenue late Monday evening when officers made contact with Webb and Marshall. When officers knocked on the door at 533 Woodland Ave., they reported a strong odor of marijuana from inside the residence. According to the police report, officers also saw Webb attempting to hide items before answering the door.

While speaking with officers, Webb said he had already been contacted by the female with the stolen car.  Upon questioning, Marshall provided a false name, causing the officers to be suspicious.

During a routine security pat down, officers found $4,500 in Webb’s pocket. Webb and Marshall were transported to the Mansfield Police Department while a search warrant signed by Judge Frank Ardis was executed.

A METRICH K-9 unit searched the residence and found 1 gram of crack cocaine in individually wrapped baggies, 3 grams of marijuana, suspected heroin and pills inside the leg of a weight bench. Additionally, a digital scale was located in a kitchen drawer. Other drug paraphernalia also was found in the home, according to the police report.

Both men were arrested and transported to the Richland County Jail. Marshall was charged with falsification. Webb faces a first-degree felony charge of possession of crack cocaine and misdemeanor charges for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana. Further charges have been forwarded to the Richland County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
