Norma Jeanne Hardesty, 85, of Loudonville, died Monday, December 29, 2014 in Colonial Manor Health Care Center, Loudonville.
Norma Jeanne was born May 5, 1929 in Cleveland and was the daughter of the late Marion B. and Fern B. (Steele) Daily. She was a 1947 graduate of Amity High School and a Loudonville area resident for many years. She was a cashier for Miner’s Market in Loudonville and people always remembered her for her cheerful whistling. Norma Jeanne worked as a nurses’ aide at Kettering Hospital and was the cashier at Loudonville High School cafeteria for 13 years, retiring in 1986. She was a member of Loudonville Church of the Nazarene and was past president of the American Legion Auxiliary #257, Loudonville.
Norma Jeanne is survived by five daughters and sons-in-law: Marianne and George “Bud” Dawson of Loudonville, Carlene and Ken Beck of Perrysville, Debra and Dave Vail of Bellville, Barbara and Jim Kollar of Loudonville, and Betty Jo Neighbarger of Loudonville; 12 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandson, and 2 stepbrothers: Dean Stoner of Perrysville and Gene Stoner of Sandusky. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Carl F. Hardesty who died Jan. 16, 2014, a brother, Richard Dailey, a sister, Doris Lifer, and her step-mother, Annabel Dailey.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 2, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. in the Loudonville Church of the Nazarene, with Rev. Allan Franks officiating. Burial will follow in Loudonville Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday, Dec. 31 from 2 until 5 p.m. in LINDSEY FUNERAL HOME, LOUDONVILLE.
